Three unalienable rights entitled to mankind enshrined in the United States Declaration of Independence. 250 years later, we recognize our country has yet to live up to the self-evident truths promised by the Founding Fathers—that all men are created equal.
Since 2025, we’ve witnessed unprecedented attacks on our rights. In response, OCA has:
- Filed a lawsuit challenging President Trump's executive order revoking birthright citizenship, which violates the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution;
- Sued Elon Musk and DOGE for their unconstitutional actions that have threatened Pell Grant, AANAPISI, and other higher ed and K-12 programs that millions of students rely on;
- Joined a lawsuit against President Trump’s executive order requiring proof of citizenship for voter registration, which would strip millions of eligible voters of their fundamental right to vote;
- And challenged the legality of President Trump’s executive order restricting mail-in voting, which would prevent Asian American voters from casting informed ballots with the assistance of trusted translators—impacting their ability to fully participate in our democracy.
This July 4th, as we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, be vocal and join us in demanding our representatives and leaders uphold America’s promise. We will continue fighting to ensure constitutional, civil, and human rights extend to all people.
The new “Unalienable Rights” Collection features the immortal words “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness” by Thomas Jefferson—but with a twist: “AAPI” is included in the word “Happiness,” symbolizing that for the country to truly be a multiracial democracy with equal rights for all, it must be inclusive of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
The back design features the words that preceded the list of unalienable rights in the Declaration of Independence, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal," in the style of Timothy Matlack's handwriting.
100% of net proceeds will support OCA's work to defend constitutional, civil, and human rights and advance the sociopolitical and holistic well-being of all Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders.
